I too have ivdca & don’t understand what is going on. 4 red devil chemo + 16 half dose chemo & 19 radiation treatments. Out 6 months. Next 6 mo f/up is Dec. only blood work has been done.
Should more testing be done. Stage 4.
First lumpectomy then dissection—13 lymph nodes
-3 tumors. Clean margin. I am 72 & all alone in this great big world. Friends live out-of-town so it’s just me alone to take care of me.

You have more strength to get through this journey then you may be giving yourself credit for... but we all need to feel connected with others at a time like this. Does your community have a cancer support community center? It's a great resource for meeting others with all forms and stages of breast cancer and receiving/sharing invaluable information. Do any of your local churches have a Stephen Ministry program? You don't need to be religious to have a SM caregiver... she will meet with you regularly and serve as a sounding board for your fears and frustrations. Connectiveness is participatory, and one needs to initiate it when living alone. In the meantime, this Mayo Connect group is always here for you, albeit remotely.
