Hi. I want to go for a walk but my emotional state and mind don’t let me. I feel so very depressed, angry, frustrated, frightened, anxious, confused and I just can’t go.

Hello @smilie,

It can be difficult to begin the process of getting out and walking. It is probably good to think of it as a process. For example, one day you might try and get out of the house and walk 10 steps away from your door, the next day increase that by 10 more steps, etc. If you take "baby-steps" when you are trying to make a change, it is much easier to make some progress. Do you have anyone who can walk with you?

Also, there are some great indoor exercises that you can do that will get you moving in the security of your home. Take a look at YouTube for seated exercise videos that you can do at home. Here is a link, https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=seated+exercises

Whatever movement you can get into your life will help you feel better both physically and emotionally.

Will you give it a try?

@smilie It really becomes a mind battle, doesn't it? Part says move, get out and enjoy, while the other part wants you to bow to sitting and stagnating. Don't give in to that. I've been there, too. It becomes a habit, then a way of life. It is simply not good for you mentally/emotionally/physically. Fight mightily to overcome that depression and anxiety. Take those steps, talk to a trusted person.

I pushed myself to walk yesterday. It was chilly but I know the importance of it.
