Thank you two for responding- i m trying to figure out ways to help- somehow- advising him to get more info! I wish i could talk to the doctor...
But he trusts him like i said And ive mentioned getting a second opinion. If not only to get more info - he is working with the urologist for all of this is that normal?

@formydad He can ask for a copy of the surgery report, and the biopsy results. As a patient, he can ask for a second opinion, and speak with an oncologist for how to proceed. While we would like to think Dr's work as a team for the best patient's care, that is not always how it goes, or appears to us.

@formydad I’m coming into this discussion late but I have some ideas. Did your dad name someone as his medical power of attorney in case he can’t make decisions? Ask him to add you also and to tell the doctor that he can speak to you. Your dad just has to give permission. When my father was very ill, my mother told the surgeons that they would have to speak to me. My father wasn’t able to make decisions and my mother felt I would understand details better. As a nurse, we (doctors and nurses) would gladly speak to anyone if the patient said it was OK. Even though he’s had surgery already, it’s not to late to get involved. Make a list of questions and let the doctor’s office know that you want a conversation. Is there any way that you can go to where your parents are so you can go to an appointment with them? It will really help you! I hope this will help. Becky
