@grandmar WOW, you did move around a lot. never in New England though. Sounds like you are enjoying Florida which is great. I don't think I could move that far south. Neither I nor my husband could see us moving there.

Yes, we have moved around a lot, mostly in the Mid-Atlantic states, until Florida.
My hubby worked in an industry that became very volatile.
His companies were sold and thankfully the new companies took him along.
This meant going to wherever they needed him.
We usually needed an in-between place to live while we looked for or built a home.
Our average stay for the first few moves was 3 years with living in temporary housing for 3-12 months.
I became a good house-packer!
After a bit, I began to look at all the moving as an adventure.
However, towards the last couple of moves, it really cut into my career.
It was hard for me to progress when I wasn't in a job long enough.
The last place, before Florida was our longest stay.
We actually lived in our home for almost 10 years!
We do love Florida!
Although we never plan to leave the state, we don't know if this will be our forever home.
Our son-in-law just got a new job.
Even though it is not that far away, a 45 minute to 1 hour commute turns into a 2 hour plus commute each way.
He works long hours 5-6 days a week.
We don't know how long he will be able to do this before they will need to move closer to his work.
If they go, so will we!

Happy trails....

PS, I've never been to New England. I hear it is beautiful, especially in the spring and summer. I'll have to add it to my bucket list! My mom always said she didn't have to travel outside the US because there are so many beautiful places to see right here. She was right!
