Hello @lenzo, I would like to add my welcome along with @lisalucier and other members. I have no experience with hip replacement and peripheral neuropathy but I recently had a total knee replacement and I have idiopathic small fiber peripheral neuropathy. I'm 7 days post and doing OK with no change in my existing neuropathy symptoms which are just the numbness in my feet and ankles. I did find an article that may provide more information for you.

Hi John. Thanks for the welcome into the group. Like you, I have the same type of idiopathic peripheral neuropathy, small nerve fiber.
I was glad to hear that you are in your recovery from your knee replacement and that you have not had any further change in your neuropathy. I’m wishing you a very speedy recovery.
I looked at that link you gave me re hip replacement and neuropathy. However, that article does not really have a discussion of having preoperative neuropathy before the surgery . I have only recently started searching but they all have been about post operative neuropathy caused by the hip replacement. Fortunately the incidence is on the low side and from what I could tell less than about 4%. My search will continue but I become less concerned about it.
So all the best to you in your recovery and hope to be talking with you again soon. Thanks.
