Need help finding out what I have
I have an extremely sore throat after kissing someone, my pain level is 12/10 and nothing is helping me. I've had it twice now after kissing the same person and we don't know why, he's kissed other people and they didn't get sick and so have I. For some reason its only me, he's not sick at all. Tylenol, goody powders, throat lozenges, you name it, none of it is helping.

Ask you doctor for some Lidocaine spray or liquid. I guarantee it will numb the area. Won’t last long but will give some relief. I use it when I chew up my tongue and cheeks from seizures so I can eat/drink. Doctors are very leary handing it out so you might have a fight on your hands.
Good luck,
Jake
I have some lidocaine mouth wash I was prescribed but I can still feel the pain through the numbing that's how bad it is
@peachybeans
@peachybeans Have you gone to your Dr yet When my throat was like this the Dr took a swab to see if it was strep it wasn't I had the flu at the time and used salt water gargle, then peroxide gargle which helped rinse after gargling
Yes, they testes me for strep and it came back negative. They told me they don't know what it is and that was that
@peachybeans That is what makes me was neg. But no dx.so just did my own thing peroxide diluted in water,rinse then salt water ,lozengers it finally quit as I got better forgot to add Vicks on throat cover with cloth hope some of this helps 🙂
I had a bad throat like yours. Nothing took the pain away and I was on high amts of ibuprofen or Tylenol around the clock. This magic mouth rinse with lidocaine was no help either. I am annoyed that male docs saw me as a complaining woman with a sore throat. I’d rather go thru child birth or break my ankle again rather than have this sore throat pain. The immense pain is gone, but I don’t feel well yet. I’m guessing, but since I was taking Cephalexin for a bladder infection before the start of the extreme pain, I wonder if it could have been an allergic reaction.
