Knees are warm to the touch.

Is any one still experiencing that warm to hot feeling after 10 weeks? I'm 10 weeks out from double TKR, and 3 weeks MUA. They are both very warm to the touch all day and I'm icing continually. Even if we venture out I take the ice packs with.

Good morning......I'm 8 weeks out of my right knee replacement. Sometimes it's warm, other times, not. Originally, I worried about it, but read somewhere that that's perfectly normal because it's still healing. Good luck.

Hi @doodles418 - I'll be 8 weeks post-op on Tuesday. My knee is a little warmer than the other, but nothing bothersome. I agree with @emb123 - I believe the warmth is just part of the healing process. Does the warmth affect your mobility? If you are still doing PT, does it interfere with that? Best of luck!

@doodles418 : 6 + months after TKR the knee is still warm a good bit of time. Not hot, but definitely different temperature. I’m supposed to worry about it ( as well as some slight residual swelling) at the 1 year mark. For now I think you are in the ok range. Where did you get the guts to do double TKR? Superwoman?

Hi, I had my TKR on Jan. 8,2018 MUA on Feb. 27,2019 and yes I am still experiencing the hotness & swelling in my left knee. I'm icing constantly.

Yes, pretty much the same. Hot to touch swelling, that I finally reduced from 17” to 16 “ by following the edema PT series and no advanced series.
