Right - Left Discrimination Problem

Sometimes, when in a car giving directions, I say right or left when I mean the opposite and I cannot believe that I did that. My brain knows which way is which but I see one way and say the other. I do an eye to hand exercise where I move my hand back and forth in front of my face and follow with my eyes. Or I sit in a chair and move my eyes back and forth, up and down following my hand.

Hi @lakelifelady and THANK YOU for the information. Hope it helps me to "retrain"my brain! Though, unlike you -- Are you ready for this? Well ... following the concussion, I "don't know" which is Right and which is Left! In other words, my brain thinks "RIGHT"; I say "RIGHT", but I move my "LEFT" hand (or vice-versa)! Then I look at the other hand and wonder if I moved the correct one ... It is NOT easy these days, because I am constantly second-guessing myself! So I always ask someone to tell me ... I sound pretty idiotic; can you just imagine what people think when I ask: "... is this my right hand or the left one?". Most of the times I laugh at myself, but honestly, it is pretty frustrating! So thank you for the exercise tip. I am going to start working on it right away!! 🙂
