Has anyone had a tight band feeling after total knee replacement?
I am 8 weeks post TKR and have had this very tight band around my knee since week one. My Dr at 6 wks says it is normal and will go away. Has anyone else had this and did it go away and when?

I can understand completely bc I experience the same thing. I am 11 mos out of surgery and I can tell you that the intense feeling of tightness and pressure has not gone away but it is a bit less intense at this point. I am remaining hopeful it will continue to improve. I am grateful I can walk without pain but if overdone, it will feel more tight for a couple more days.
If you find from spinal mri that there is a connection to what you and I are experiencing,,
I hope you will post for others consideration.
Peace and Blessings
Be patient. If mfr gave relief even momentarily, this is a lead to understanding the healing process. How long are you post tkr? I am 11 months out and about a month ago notice a bit less of that tight pressure and band feeling in the lower leg.
Too bad most Drs. Dont get taught about all the aspects that surgery interrupts with soft tissue recovery.
Don't give up hope and consider continuing with MFR with knowledgable therapist.
Hope this helps.
How long has it been since surgery?
I am now 11 mos out and just now am noticing minute improvements. Dont do any drastic intervention until sufficient healing time has resulted. My Dr said 12-18 mos is not out of the realm of ordinary. Have you had any recommendations for increased B vitamins to facilitate nerve healing? Research that possibility.
Best wishes
Dont give up. Soft tissue Healing takes a lot of tume for many individuals. I am 11 mos out and just now am realizing less band tightness
Thank you. I guess I just need more patience.
It is comforting in some way to know there are others out there that can understand how we are feeling! I too am very grateful to no pain in my knee now, and trust and pray new year and time will give some improvement to the rest of my problems and for others, I will certainly post any positive results from MRI, wishing you a happy Christmas.
Yes, it does. Be patient and vigilant for any changes
Good. Be glad to receive information
Hi there @ruthannejoan and @judybearden1, Good words, and recommendations for the TKR healing process. It is not a bad idea to consider MFR with an Expert therapist for quite a few of our recovery issues. I still have my knee checked every week for any cysts or fascia restrictions and it has been at least 5 years.
May you be free of suffering and the causes of suffering.
Chris
Please explain what MFR is? This is all kinda new to me. thank you.
