Has anyone had a tight band feeling after total knee replacement?
I am 8 weeks post TKR and have had this very tight band around my knee since week one. My Dr at 6 wks says it is normal and will go away. Has anyone else had this and did it go away and when?

What are they going to do?
Total revision. In other words remove the knee replacement that was put in 11 months ago and puta new one in. They also have to make some repairs to my tibia.
What was the issue with the tibia?
Stress fractures caused because the new knee was loose
How is a nuclear bone scan different than an xray? Did your xray show nothing wrong? I'm 13 month post-op and having similar problems. Yes, was told to wait for the year mark and then told to give it another year! I really need some answers. Looking for another opinion, and Mayo said no they would not see me, their reply was " we feel we can't give you any better care than you are already receiving".
My new doctor did a cat scan and an X-ray. Both looked good. When I continued to say I was in horrible pain he sent me for nuclear bone scan. They put radio active stuff in your veins, then do a scan. Three hours later they do another scan. Not sure how it works but it clearly showed there was a failure in the knee implant. Ask your doctor to have one done. Don’t give up.
My X-ray and cat scan indicates all was well. But I was still in severe pain. My doctor sent me for the bone scan. They put the nuclear radio active stuff in vein then do one scan immediately. Then they do a second scan three hours later. They determined I had a mechanical failure. My advice don’t give up and don’t wait inside on more testing. (Mayo doc told me same things you were told wait another year) my doc was at JOI and he listened and tired to find out what was wrong.
Thank you for this info. I will definitely be asking whoever my new Dr will be to do this scan.
Thank you @danielcwest, for being a good advocate for yourself and for having a doctor who was listening and knew what to do. When will you know the revision plan? Hopefully, it will be a simple fix. Have a peaceful evening. Chris
To doodles 418: Doesn't make sense to me. I have a friend who kept going back to her surgeon with pain for a few years and she could not straighten the leg. He said there was nothing to be done and that the implant was fine. She went to another local practice and the surgeon there said he was amazed she could even walk because everything had loosened and become separated. She underwent a revision a few months ago and is doing very well. Don't know where you are located but there are some great surgeons here at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC which is where I went for my surgery because I had issues that the locals would not address. You need to find someone else.
