Hi sorry to hear about your problems. I have had both knees replaced and was very hard for months after surgery. But all of a sudden things got better and now I can walk and hike with almost no pain at all. One knee especially is very sensitive to touch but only if bump into something or my dog decides to stand on it
But it really does get better. So glad I got them done but the first 6 months was a struggle
I know how you feel as I can relate. I am almost a year out and still have that band effect and days when it is raining and snowy it really is apparent. They had to cut the anterior tib and somehow tie it all together. Overall I am happy to get rid of the pain and be able to walk. So it was worth it. I continue to exercise and stretch and not overdo. The PA told me the knee won’t be like the other one so I accepted the fact that I can’t and won’t be able to do the stuff I used to do. My biggest prayer is to get rid of the band for I do get discouraged at times.
@snowdoc2001 Try to not be so discouraged. Hopefully, it will get better. There are many people in similar positions as you, but there are many of us too who are happy with the results of our TKRs. I am hoping you will get there too, it sounds as if it might take a while so try to be patient. Without the TKR you were in much pain I presume, and that would have only gotten worse.
