Showering after TKR

This is a little question but I'm wondering how everyone is doing regarding the shower? I am just ending week 3 after 2/7 TKR. Still using a shower chair in the shower which is the only activity that still feels scary to me. I have high sides on my jacuzzi bathtub which makes swinging my legs in and out feel unsafe. I have to put all my weight on one foot while I drag the other out. I use the walker to transfer from the shower chair to the floor. How long before you could shower confidently without the chair? I'd love to try it but am uncertain that I can stand that long.

I am 12 weeks post op from TKR and still only 90 degrees flex with major scar tissue. Had a MUA 8 weeks ago and still no better. I was showering from day #1 and no chair. I did use the walker to get in and out but graduated to a cane 10 weeks ago.

@amytro Your shower is within your jacuzzi? That would make it more difficult. My shower is separate, just walk-in, and I never used a chair to shower. We are all different though, so if you have to use a chair don't worry about it. You will get beyond that.

Thanks, JK. Yes, my shower is in my bathtub, which is extra deep because it has jacuzzi jets. Less than ideal for sure. I wish I had a walk-in shower. Time really is everything in this post-TRK surgery process. I'm learning a lot about patience!
