Has anybody successfully tapered off of lorazepam (Ativan)?

If someone has been on benzos a short time like a month or two I believe a fast taper can be done

Hi Marena,
I had a nervous breakdown (panic attacks) in February of this year. They initially put me on 0.5mg Ativan twice a day and Buspar. Later it was changed to 1 mg Ativan twice (2mg) and 50mg Pristiq per day. So I am taking 2mg Ativan now for about 3 months. Do you think I can safely taper off ? the Pristiq seems to be working well and my anxiety and depression is somewhat controlled now. But I am scared of the Ativan and it makes me very sleepy in the daytime. I have to work, sole earner for the family. God help me. Please help me , and tell me what I can do. Have I already taken too much ?
