@dwi Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. You had sudden hearing loss primarily in one ear? Are you using two hearing aids, or do you have a bicross hearing aid that allows you to hear from both directions? Hearing aids do keep improving, but the best hearing aid is only as good as the person who tests you and does the fitting appropriately. I have sensorineural hearing loss, but it was progressive, not sudden. Accents are very difficult for me to understand. That is due to the hearing loss not the hearing aids though.
