Just had a friend tell me yesterday that one month after the first Shingrix shot, she developed shingles, It has been a mild case and a pharmacist/family member, recommended she be sure to get the 2nd shot but at 6 months to a year later...not too close to the first one. So many varying pieces of info out there.

Shingrix is not a live vaccine. Therefore, one cannot develop shingles from it, although there are a number of allergic reactions that can develop, including a rash, which may be what happened to your friend. Or, she may just have coincidentally developed shingles. The fact that it was a "mild case" may be due to the fact that she had been partially vaccinated.
She should get the second shot as suggested.
