@brianc234 My husband had a bump under the skin that he ignored for a year covering it with a bandage. It grew. When I saw it, it had broken through the skin and looked like the eraser on a pencil. I found a dermatologist and got him in to be seen. It was malignant melanoma, the most deadly skin cancer if it spreads. He was really lucky it had not spread, so after the surgery, we’ve been able to live a normal life under surveillance for cancer reoccurrence. It was spherical and dense and did not originate from a mole. Abnormal moles can turn into melanoma. It’s best to see a dermatologist for a full body check.
