Hello @klouis, I would like to add my welcome to Debbra's. I combined your discussion with a conversation titled "Total hip replacement — What to except for recovery." I did this so members discussing post-surgery complications could meet one-another and talk about what comes after surgery. I'd like to also invite @mamie and @edithmiller to this discussion who have talked about dealing with one leg shorter than the other.
@klouis, how is your pain 4 months post-op?
Hi there!
My experience was the opposite. My surgical leg was SHORTER than the other (possibly because of deterioration of the joint). Ask your surgeon if a thin lift would give you some relief. (My legs are the same length now.)
Keep on recovering!
Bill
YES. Is the leg length discrepancy (LLD) altering your gait?
Hi @klouis - Welcome to Connect! I haven't had a hip replacement - I had my knee replaced so I'm sure it's not quite the same recovery, but there are quite a few great folks here who have had hip replacements. Maybe one of these can give some insight on your experience @scottb32, @scottjeffe, @karon
