We live in Northwest MN about 30 miles from Moorhead MN/Fargo ND. My knee was done by "the BEST" knee and hip surgeon in the area. He flies all over the US. When I have gone back to him and told him about my popliteal artery being pinched by him and had to have surgery again 60 days after TKR and no one would listen to me he just said "you are lucky you didn't lose your leg, most people that is happens to lose their leg" and "most people come to me with problems like yours and want me to fix it" but then tells me to give it 1 to 3 yrs for nerves to heal and there is nothing he can do about a fractured knee cap. That bone chip is in there somewhere and hurts all the time. Last comment to me was "I bet you wish you would have never come to me". I hear of so many with numb foot and if care is taken it shouldn't happen! My first knee was a piece of cake in 2013 and one has been a pain since day one.
thanks for the names though. I might have to look in doing something when the US opens up again. We haven't gone to far from home and always wear a mask and gloves and spray everything down with lysol and keep hand sanitizer in the car. stay safe!

@loriaakre I'm glad if it can be any help for you, the response was more for @sandie2749 since she said she could go to Boston and stay with relatives there.
I think your surgeon, although perhaps highly regarded, lacks a bit of empathy. I don't understand why, if there is a bone chip there that's causing pain, it cannot be eliminated fairly easily, but of course I am not a doctor so there may be things I know too little about. I do think I would seek a second opinion on that though.
Doctor visits are a bit intimidating right now though, and I think they will be for a long time so we may need to adjust our thinking and forge ahead at some point, taking every precaution. I have canceled an appointment I had for later this month. When you are older and have other risk factors it's just too scary!
