@imallears Although I no longer live in California, the wildfires are something I pay attention to. I have family/friends/former co-workers in the line of fire, so to speak. There is one that broke out last night that is affecting where I used to live. We went through the Thomas Fire two years ago in that same area. For that one I had to pack to evacuate in middle of the night, no power except for for camping light. Slept fully clothed with shoes on for three days. Truly an incident to bring on a PTSD flare.

That’s an awful experience. I hope all you know are out of harm’s way. I think the fires are scarier than any hurricanes I have been through. We never had to evacuate. The longest time without power was in Long Island NY after a hurricane..6 1/2 days but we could stay in our home. Here, a few years ago, power was out for 3 days but we stayed at a friends who had a massive generator.
My son and family, in Orlando, stayed at a motel for a few days but they were 8 or 9 days without power... or rowed a portable AC...it’s always the cool air you miss.

Praying for a nice steady long rain for California.
