Today I am ever-so-grateful for understanding friends. The escrow on our new house continues. In the last 10 days our patient [bless her soul!] real estate agent has absolutely been there for us. I have stepped down from three volunteer organizations' positions that I became involved in the last year; all were leadership spots. Until the physical move 1 August, I'll keep on in those endeavors. It has been emotional for me, with periods of stress reactions.

Ginger- Buying/building a new home is one of the most stressful moves we make as adults- it's just so damn personal and involves money and letting people who we don't know all about our finances. It's a damn intrusion! lol. The night of our closing I could have sworn that I ran a fever of over 200 I was so stressed and excited. I'm really surprised that I didn't pass out!

@gingerw Sorry to hear of your stress. Moving, buying a new home really can be stressful. I am sure that's why my husband and I are dragging our feet so much. It will be very emotional for us also. This is the home we raised our kids in. It's a tie to them, particularly since they both now live in other states. On the gratitude side though, I am very happy that we have such a great relationship with each of them. We visited our daughter in Manhattan this past weekend, and our son will be flying here to spend July 4th weekend with us.

This whole "escrow" thing in CA is different for us easterners. I never heard of it until a woman I knew in southern CA started her own escrow business. That's all lumped together with other stuff out here.
