Today I am so grateful that my husband's daughter and her husband are visiting for the weekend. It is such a joy to have family around - different energy, lots of talk and catching up, and just generally enjoying our time together. I think it was @gingerw who taught me the word "bonus daughter". If so, thank you - I love that term. If not, remind me who to thank. (I love this great group!)

I'll add to the gas price conversation: here in northeast FL, I just paid $2.69 a gallon for regular.

@debbraw Yes, that was indeed me who introduced that term for a step-child. My stepson is a blessing; his half-sister, my bonus daughter, well another story.

Today I am very grateful to have participated in the Donate Life Run/Walk, and was able to get a mile in with my wonky knee! Using trek poles helps keep my gait balanced. We met a man this morning walking in memory of his daughter, and it was a true blessing to hear his story. It was great for my husband to be able to tell a donor's family member how, as a recipient, you are grateful/humble for the gift of an organ, while feeling sadness/grief for the heartbreak of losing someone. He has often said this, but today he got to actually tell a donor's family member. I could tell it moved him.
