Today I am grateful to be back home. We spent six days in the desert, disconnected from the world except by amateur radio if there was an emergency. I am grateful for the hot shower last night, as we boondocked it with no power except batteries and no water except what we hauled. I am grateful to be "an easy keeper", and not too fussy about my appearances. The time away was a good thing, we saw the lunar eclipse without light encumbrance from cities, which was very cool! I listen to two coyotes in the distance as they hunted at night and an owl who flew by one night. It was very cold and windy. Today's temperature here feels really good. I am grateful to our faithful washer and dryer, because there are several loads of wash to do. Back into the routine of things, and already talking about another trip out before the weather turns too hot.

@gingerw Sounds lovely We where campers all our married life ,nothing like it mundane things now looking forward to next trip ,I long for those trips but glad I had them thats my refuge place . Grateful for the memories.

@gingerw a vacation sounds heavenly, but not quite that rustic for me! I like running water. Lol Seeing the moon eclipse without all the lights would've been amazing, though.

Ginger. That sounds wonderful! I love being out and away from it all. We used to camp, but I've never camped in the desert. I know how to haul water, gather firewood (in the forest), and watch my husband cook over the fire. But now, we have become a bit more civilized.
I bet the eclipse was beautiful with no light interference. I am happy that you could enjoy it like that!
