JK: I am so sorry you cannot visit with your son and daughter right now. This is brutal for families. My best friend just became a grandmother and she has to take a test every time she is with the baby. She has become a hermit to avoid getting COVID 19. And you are so right about the comparison to AIDS. I wish there were something easier we could avoid to not get COVID 19. I was in the drug store earlier this week and the man ahead of me in line started coughing so hard. I got the heck out of there. I have to pick up a prescription on Friday and again on Sunday - I wish they would just give me everything at one time. I really don't want to get this virus. I've been on a ventilator before and it was no day at the beach- I never want to be on one again if I can help it. I just keep taking vitamin D3 and K2 - D3 has saved me from other corona viruses in the past - although there is NO guarantee it will work with this one. And although nobody has spoken about Vitamin K2 and (and just plain K) for COVID 19, I know the K vitamins work on coagulation - and coagulation is a problem with COVID 19. Don't take what I say as medical advice - I'm just giving anecdotal advice that has worked for me in the past. We all just need to be very careful, wear our masks, and wash out hands often. I'm praying for all of us.

@parrotqueen I think many of us older people have become hermits. I feel like I am in prison. Granted, it's a nice, spacious prison but not being able to be out and about is very tiresome.
We had a delivery this morning from Whole Foods, much of it produce. As I thoroughly washed everything I said to my husband that the old people will be the survivors because we are the ones being the most cautious -- us and my son who tends to be a bit germaphobic.
By the way, do you know that prunes have been shown to help osteoporosis also? Unfortunately they have their own side-effects. They are recommended on a number of sites, one being NOF -- National Osteoporosis Foundation.

@lilypaws @lioness The number comparisons between flu and COVID deaths are taking into account a full year of flu deaths, whereas the numbers from COVID are for a much shorter period. The other problem is that COVID is so much more contagious, plus of course we do have a vaccine for the flu that is relatively effective most years for people who get it.
When did you ever hear of stacks of coffins outside of hospitals as they were in NYC, and mass graves for flu victims? When did you hear of hospitals having to choose which victims of the flu to save and which to let go?
