Hello, I’m new on here. In need of some help. I had my gallbladder removed 9 weeks ago and I am still experiencing some difficult symptoms and am not getting better. Has anyone experienced nausea, feeling lightheaded, headaches, unable to eat much and losing weight this long after gallbladder removal. The nausea lasts all day. I actually feel worse than I did before I had the surgery. My quality of life has changed and it’s hard to function. I am very fatigued and tire easy. I do try and stay positive and do my best to get through the day. I have seen my doctor and had tons of tests and everything comes back ok. I’m worried that I won’t get better. Please help as I’m trying to not become depressed.

Hang in there. Not sure of your age but surgery is hard no matter your age but especially as we are older. I am almost 3 weeks post op for a different surgery. It’s very normal to get down. I hope you get answers soon.

Hello, John. You will notice I moved your topic of conversation to a thread already having the discussion on Gallbladder laparoscopic Surgery. I think you will find the members in this group helpful and welcoming. Feel free to ask questions and reach out to others.

I had my surgery 6 weeks ago and having the same symptoms. I can’t eat without feeling nauseated. Have lost 15 lbs. All tests also coming back ok. I wish I had answers too. I’m getting very depressed

I too am 9 weeks post surgery and experiencing the same things. I had an endoscopy and I now have Barrett’s from the gastric reflux. I can eat small meals of chicken or fish but nothing else. Have lost 27 lbs and deal with headaches and abdominal cramping everyday. I’m trying to stay positive also but it is hard when you can’t eat or sleep. I’m on Protonix and chlorastyamine which help a little. Prayers for you and your not alone.

Me too with the nausea I had mine taken out almost 3 weeks ago it in the past five days I’ve had severe nausea

I lost 30 pounds after gallbladder surgery, it was actually pretty intense, I've been overweight most of my life. I ate right for about a month, everything was good. But I'm about 2 to 3 months in after, I've gained my weight back. Plus some. Because I went back to eating normal, honestly when the surgery was done the doctor told me I could eat anything I wanted. But I didn't, I chose to try, as soon as I did start to eat fatty foods, the weight gain was fast. But not even that. The bloating for after one out to eat meal, lasted for 3 days. My daughter likes to play on my belly, its always been fine. After about 2 or 3 months going in. She sits on my belly and it feels weird. I have timed it just to see if I would get back to normal one day, but no after about 30 seconds, I am uncomfortable, it hurts a little and it feels weird. I can't even lay right. The first 3 weeks or month that's fine. But I'm going on 3 months. And nothing is the same. Any pressure on my belly or any touch feels like someone is inside my stomach, I don't think that's normal, and I'm so seeing if I will ever feel the same. I never went for a check up because I don't have insurance, but I mean the doctors new that, so I wouldn't doubt it if my procedure wasn't something just to play around with. And also I still get gallbladder pains. I get dizzy, nauseated, and sometimes I throw up after I eat. And when I don't eat at all because I'm working. I get the pain.but why?? If I don't have a gallbladder? And if I haven't ate why should I even get that symptom ?

I am 9weeks out also and have a lot of the same symptoms as you

I'm having same symptoms 4 weeks after surgery now and it's very depressing I'm barely eating. Anyone found a solution?

I just had gallbladder removal 2 weeks a go and the key to feeling better is moving and drink plenty of water and stop eating greasy food that make your digestive system work slowly keep it real it's not the surgery it what we put in our body after surgery. Ann Arbuckle
