Hi chrissyp. I am on month 13 with Tymlos after a compression fracture of my L4. I have many allergies and was initially prescribed Forteo. After ten days on Forteo I had an allergic reaction. The doctor then prescribed Tymlos. I am doing well on Tymlos. I have experienced some fatigue as a side effect, but am used to it now. I know from experience how scary it is to consider a new drug. So far, so good for me. Hopefully you will do well with Tymlos.
I am going in for my shot demonstration tomorrow - I may do my first injection at her office. I know all of these meds have possible side effects and I postponed doing anything as long as I felt safe to postpone. The one good thing about the daily shot is that it doesn't build up and stay in your body so, at least according to my doctor, if you get side effects that you cannot tolerate once you stop they are gone. At least I haven't heard of any effect that continues once you quit the shots. So I figured I would try it, and if I cannot tolerate it I will try something else. I already have some gerd issues so oral bisphosphonates are out for me.
