Dear @grandmarr,I have just read your post about the severe pain you are in. I am so sorry you are having all this difficulty! Have you called your doctor about this? I know you did try adjusting your schedule for pain meds, and it did appear to be helping somewhat. I noticed the mention of an adjustable bed, but that you didn't have one. My daughter gave me one, and I sleep in that one as much as I can.

I have had surgery as well. I am having to use a walker to get around. It costs $70 per month to rent a wheelchair here in North Alabama. So I will be looking at thrift stores to see if I can find one that will hold up my foot, parallel to the ground. Multiple bones were broken to correct Hammertoes. I had no idea it would take so long to heal, or that I was not supposed to put my foot on the ground as little as possible.

They have knock offs of the tempurpedic adjustable beds that are less expensive than the real deal. That is what I have, and I think it would be a help to you. Perhaps someone in your circle of friends would have one they no longer need? Or in your social media, or community groups? Just a thought.

I also wanted to share with you that there are some conditions that make individuals more susceptible to pain. Lower magnesium levels, vitamin D levels, and Fibromyalgia, just a few. Perhaps your physician could check to see if those things I mentioned would not interfere with your health. I always tell folks to run every little thing, even a vitamin, by their PCP. In fact I recently had to start weaning myself off of meds that were contraindicated. One even has caused issues.

Here's hoping that in the days and weeks ahead, something will come to light regarding your pain situation. I will be looking forward to seeing posts from you, as you are able to. I am sending good energy, vibes, thoughts and prayers for your good health! Adios,
Mamacita

@mamacita
Thank you for reaching out!
I know people who needed hammertoes fixed but decided to wait because of the pain and the amount of time it takes to heal.
I am so sorry for your pain.
All of us on these sites have pain and understand what you are feeling.

I really don't need a wheelchair.
I use a walker or a cane.
I am trying to use the cane more often and do pretty well with it.
I walk around my house several times a day and I use my cane when I can tolerate the pain or I use the walker when I am in too much pain or not steady.

I just had my vitamins checked due to something else I have that the doctor thought might be a vitamin deficiency.
All my numbers are great.
I do have Fibro although my symptoms have become less and less as I lose weight and/or exercise.
Both things help a lot!

Well that's it for now.
Thanks again for reaching out!

Have a pain free day!
