Side Effects of Shingles Vaccine
I got the flu shot and the new shingles vaccination 3 days ago. Today I started feeling sick to my stomach. I've never had a reaction to the flu shot and was wondering if anyone else felt sick after getting the shingles vaccine?

Hi @ssbionicknee. That’s unfortunate that after receiving your flu shot and shingles vaccines you are feeling sick to your stomach.
@maryjosell and @windwalker have all received the vaccine, and can provide insight on to how they reacted to the vaccine.

Have you reached out to your doctor to let them know how you are feeling after receiving the shots an vaccines?
As luck would have it I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. 🙂 It has been about 8 hours now and I am feeling a little better. I had to get in bed and lay still. I felt sick most of the day, but it got really bad before I laid down. I felt like I was on a boat in the middle of a storm. I also looked up side effects as I was resting, and it said the new vaccine is much stronger than most vaccines and the side effects included feeling sick and a headache. There was also a number to call to report any side effects. I am going to do that tomorrow. This was my first shot and I am supposed to get the second one in 2-6 months. I am dreading the next shot and am going to ask my doctor if I really need it. I had the original vaccine and was fine. Then they came out with this stronger vaccine. I am interested to see what others have to say about their experience with the shots.
I had my second doze of shingrex vaccine and since then have had burning sensations in my body that no one can find out why. Had MRI, Brain Scan, aetc. Can the vaccine give you problems? I looked up side effects but my problem was not listed.
In my research a few years ago I did find an article indicating that Shingrix vaccination could result in PN. I don't have a link. I'm cynical enough after reading what's going on between big pharma, the CDC and doctors regarding vaccination information to suspect that the information may be harder to find now. I've heard FB and UTUBE are limiting or eliminating any negative information regarding vaccines.
I didn't get the shots at the same time. I received my Shingrix shots last year. I have been getting the flu shots each year. I have had no problems (other than a sore arm where the shots were given) with either vaccination.
I had my second dose of Shingrex vaccine and had a very unpleasant reaction. The night after the shot, I had sweats and slept poorly. The next day, aches all over and low grade fever. Then I developed a neuropathic itch in an large area surrounding my injection site. This lasted a couple of days. The strangest, however, is that 2 days post injection, I developed a fever blister/cold sore on my lip. I'm 73 and have never had one before. Fever blister is gone after about 10 days, and all other symptoms have passed. I have had shingles before, so the reaction is minor compared to getting an actual case of shingles. I just thought it strange to have a reaction when I've never had one to any vaccine previously. I hope you're feeling better by now! Sue
I went in last year and had the first Shingrix (shingles) shot in one arm and the first pneumonia shot (PCV13) in the other arm. Two months later I got the second Shingrix shot in one arm and the second pneumonia shot in the other (PPSV23). Both times I no adverse reactions.
@grecarmar
I was told you get one shot for pneumonia then a different one a year later. Is there something new out?
Jake
I think one year is the normal time between shots, but I have CLL so the CDC guidelines allow the second shot after two months. Sorry, I should have mentioned that in my original comments.
I got the new Shingles shot on 02/24/2020. The first day I felt oK. By day 2 I awoke with a stiff neck (I cannot turn my neck left or right, up or down to my chest), I had a fever of 100.9, my ears ache, I have body aches, a headache that feels like my skull will blow right open, swollen glands, night sweats, nausea, difficulty with breathing, periodic fevers that shoot up and then come down and a sore throat. This is the 6th day I am feeling very poorly. I called my physician to see if this could be from the shot or if this could be the coronavirus. I am 70 years old with many complex health issues. I am wondering if this is outcome of the shot how long should it continue? I am feeling slightly worse with each passing day. Loss of appetite, under the weather. I need to lie down. I have been using my oxygen. Any recommendations?
