Has anyone been told they have water on their knee after get a partial knee replacement ? I am 7 months out after the replacement had a knee manipulation for scar tissue, 39 visits of PT also water theraphy etc. My surgeon just wants to open knee again remove scar tissue then says he will probably replace partial with full knee I am not ready for all of that again with no guarantee scar tissue will not return I went to a acupuncture d.o. and he was wonderful he did a sono on knee and said the knee has water on it and needs to be drained also the ligaments are stretched has anyone had water on knee after this surgery ????

Hi @kneeproblem - I had a total knee replacement in April 2017 but I didn't have water on the knee. Are you having issues with range of motion or extension? I'm going to ask @contentandwell to chime in if she has had anything like this. Thanks for posting!

I am having a hard time walking it hurts to put pressure on the knee. I have range of motion (not great but not bad ) but the knee is so swollen and the ligaments are stretched . Not my surgeon but the other doc said the fluid and swelling is causing most of my pain

Yes I am actually going to another otheropedic this Monday out of town for another opinion I can not wait to hear what he says. Thank you

I sure will looking forward to some new hope

In my neck of the woods, you need to wait 1 year for bone to solidify for another surgery...unless it is emergency. Also, from what I hear, not all ortho surgeons should do partials....it like putting grandma's teacup back together after it is broken, and expecting to be able to drink tea from it...only a few are skilled enough to do this.
