My husband is taking midodrine for low blood pressure. It has helped. Sometimes it is still on lower side but not as bad.

Bill was put on Midodrine over a month ago. It did bring his sitting BP up to a better range (111/67) but if taken when standing it is still low but not quite as bad.
However, after taking it he has started having severe diarrhea - lately not making the toilet. And he told me this morning he has been showing bloody stools for about 4 days. He has dementia and sometimes can get mixed up on things. Like one day he said he had been up 12 times to use the bathroom. The camera we have set up to monitor for falls only showed him up 2 times and I was only aware of him being up twice.
He also suffers from 'piles' but has only ever showed a little blood on the toilet paper - gone by next day.
So I'm suspecting the Midodrine might be causing it. He also has CKD Stage 3. Is 89.
Our family doctor is out of town and I have an appointment set up for Bill when he returns. It was the nursing home doctor that put him on the Midodrine (he was in the NH about 3 weeks - now getting a few weeks of HH care.)
