Hello @mmak

You have expressed your feelings remarkably! Thank you for sharing yourself here on Connect. My name is Teresa and I'm a volunteer mentor on Connect and I'm not a medical/psychological professional, but just a patient.

You mentioned that you just started seeing a psychiatrist. That can be a very helpful relationship. I am wondering if some talk therapy would also be a good idea? You might check with your psychiatrist and see if he/she can recommend a psychologist who can engage you in some insight-oriented therapy.

Also, have you checked with your medical doctor to be sure that there are not any physical problems that might be contributing to these anxiety issues? Given some of the physical symptoms (especially the mouth sores, sore throat, etc.) you have mentioned, this might be a good idea. Have you started taking any new meds that might be contributing to your symptoms? (A pharmacist might be a good resource to answer this question as well.)

These are all just thoughts, I hope that you find some answers soon.

Please keep in touch, I look forward to hearing from you again.

Teresa

Hi Teresa thank you for your response I'm really having a hard time with this, I have been on some meds but now the doctor has prescribed lyrica, I haven't started on it yet, been reading up on it and the reviews are not very good so I'm a bit anxious, any advice on this, is there anyone on it you know and what are the effects

I have actually done all the blood tests and x-rays I suffer from chronic neck and shoulder pains, the blood tests showed I have vitamin D deficiency. I'm seeing my psychiatrist tomorrow and he has mentioned sending me to a psychologist as well, it's really all overwhelming.
