I am a 71 year old male. MBSR might be useful. I try to exercise, get outside. I keep a gratitude journal. I try to help others. Breathing calmly really works. You must remember Feelings are NOT facts. Nno-one has ever directly died from anxiety (I worked for a cardiac rehab program to help relax recovering heart surgery patients.) Contact Stress.org for more information. You will get better!!

Ron, I need some reinforcement. It seems these days that ANY stressor brings on a wave of nausea and nervousness. I used to be able to handle anything gracefully and confidently. Does age have anything to do with stress response? Can aging weaken the gut-brain connector? If I can’t face minor incidents without these feelings of extreme illness washing over me, what happens when the inevitable big problems occur?!?
Thank you in advance for your insight and assistance. Anne
