Does H. Pylori lead to stomach cancer?
Good afternoon to all, My husband was recently treated for HCC with chemotherapy and radiation. He was recently treated for H Pylori bacteria. in a month he will need to take a breath test to see if the bacteria is gone. I know that this type of bacteria can cause stomach cancer. Has anyone diagnosed with this bacteria led to stomach cancer? Any information on this topic will be appreciated. I fear that he has stomach cancer due to some of the symptoms listed. Hopefully I am over thinking this.

So I had a screening colonoscopy today 1st one was at 50 no 60. No polyps at 50 . At 60 2 small ones and one larger one. The 2 smaller ones he taught were ok. The larger one he was going to send to pathology frankly I am a little nervous. Any one have experience in this area and words of wisdom to share with me..
Hi my name is Justin. After reading this post I decided to make an account on here. My Doctor found complete intestinal Metaplasia in my lower stomach and told me I am negative for h.p. He said he romoved it and there’s nothing to worry about. How I should follow up in 3 years. He didn’t put me on anything. I still get dull feelings in my upper left stomach. Also I burp a lot after eating. Still he said it’s fine. How has your experience been? I don’t know if this is a normal for them to tell us basically ignore it? Or are they waiting for it to be come worst? Why didn’t he say complete intestinal Metaplasia is something they don’t treat and it is nothing to worry about? What’s the difference from complete and incomplete?
@jt5369 The test I had for it was to drink something and after a period of time they test your breath for a gas that the H Pylori produces. Your stomach fills with gas and you'll burp. Here are some studies about it and one about cranberry juice inhibiting it... I would presume unsweetened 100% cranberry juice would be best (very tart).

1 ReactionIt all started last Monday when I felt nauseous when I got home from work. That sent me in full blown panic attack. From there on Tuesday went to doc and he was more concerned about treating the anxiety versus the stomach pain. Well fast forward to Thursday night I couldn’t take it no longer. Went to the er, was dehydrated, they did ct scan and ultrasound and even kept me for 2 nights to find nothing. Now here it is Monday and I am feeling the pain in my stomach. Bad acid reflux. Has anyone ever had Helicobacter pylori? I have a doctors appointment tomorrow morning and going to have him check me for this. Guess next step is a scope? Could I have a bad virus? Answers.
I had been suffering from stomach pain for long time and whenever I went for checkup they found that I had persistent H.pylori but in last the situation become worse so a doctor recommended an abdomen MRI and result showed that I had abdominal inflammatory disease I started the medication and I see some improvement but I want to know whether this condition can be treated and get cured completely and how?

1 ReactionHowdy, Ya'all!I want to let you know that I finally have the RIGHT diagnosis. I'm on Day 10 of the 14-day treatment plan for my H. Pylori bacterial stomach infection and I feel fantastic! The abdominal pain, nausea, loss of appetite, fatigue and weight loss are almost a thing of the past. I've gained 2 lbs of body weight since I began treatment 9 days ago! I feel like I've been given a whole new body and a second chance at life!Thank you all for your support during this challenging, 10-month long living Hell that I wouldn't wish upon even my worst enemy.-kidprodigy

1 ReactionYes, I went ahead and re-posted "The Right Diagnosis" message to my previous discussion thread and would be happy to answer any questions concerning my H. Pylori symptoms, diagnosis and treatment.
The H. Pylori discussion thread you shared with me has comments from others who's suffered from this debilitating bacterial infection that sound all too familiar to me. The symptoms, diagnosis and treatments mentioned are 100% in-line with my 10-month journey through the depths of Hell.
Thank you for sharing Dr. Amy Oxentenko's H. Pylori video with me. I'll be sure to watch it carefully and take notes!
My treatment plan consists of the most popular first-line triple therapy which comes in brand name form known as PrevPac. I've got the generic version which offers a significant costs savings (i.e. <$10 vs. $1,000 for the PrevPac). The 14-day combo treatment regimen breakdown looks like this:
Amoxicillin 1,000mg x 2 per day (breakfast and dinner)
Clarithromycin (Biaxin) 500mg x 2 per day (breakfast and dinner)
Omeprazole (Prilosec) 40mg x 2 per day (breakfast and dinner)
The 3 medications should be taken concurrently and with a meal as the Clarithromycin is a real gut buster when taken on an empty stomach.
Congratulations! It is really nice to hear when someone finally is getting well! Very happy for you.
