You mention Tums, they are calcium carbonate which my doctor said not to take if you have kidney stones. I’m not familiar of the difference between what can be used for Stones and the various types of kidney disease.

@jakedduck1 Ahh, then there's the difference. Plus of course, this could easily change if I did develop kidney problems. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, hoping that I do not. At my age I suspect I would not get a transplant, I would eventually be put on dialysis for what would be the rest of my life.

Have heard that, too.

@jakedduck1 I was instructed to take calcium citrate rather than any other calcium due to my kidney disease and oxalate isssues.
