You mentioned that your surgeon has given up. When I had exhausted that Avenue, my personal trainer came up with 2 or 3 exercises to prevent back pain. I do them every day. Look for Pigeon pose and legs up the wall and a couple of twists. Seek a Myofascial release therapist (MFR). I can send you links when I get home. Am at the eye Doctor now.
