@littleonefmohio Hello, like parus and Volunteer Mentor Teresa, I have not heard of OTC anxiety treatment. The only thing I was ever given for anxiety that is an OTC is Benadryl. It calmed me, but I got sleepy
I too suffer with anxiety and panic attacks. When I get a panic attack, I now practice what I describe as mindful breathing. I focus on an object in the room such as a picture on the wall. Then I take a series of deep breaths. When I first started this process I could barely get 2 deep breaths in. Now I can take breaths from the beginning. The most important thing is
breathing in your nose and blowing out your mouth.
Littleonefmohio, can you share with us if there is something that triggers your anxiety? Have you been treated for anxiety by any medical personnel in the past?

I have subscribed to the APP Headspace. It is essentially a meditation and mindfulness series and utilizes breathing techniques like you described. It costs about 12$ per month. I am not on any medications and try really hard to stay that way. This has helped me a lot and I subscribe to the philosophy that I spent my entire career (I am 73 and recently retired) being sort of wired and ready for the work day that it is going to take me several months if not a year or so to deprogram myself from that idea.
