How can we strengthen the aorta? Is there a supplement? Vitamin C is known to help connective tissue. Maybe that helps?

My cardiologist stresses the importance of keeping the blood pressure, cholesterol & weight numbers at a satisfactory number. He also keeps reminding me of the importance to keep the stress level down. I have asked about supplements sold over-the-counter and he puts no stock in these. He also has never discussed "strengthening the aorta'.
