Barrett’s esophagus
Looking for info and help with Barret’s esophagus. I can’t figure out just how serious this is. I have read way too much online! I don’t really know how strict my diet really has to be. It is really stressful-. Does anyone here have it? And exactly how serious is it?

@lioness Just googled and here is what I found"
Try caffeine-free herbal tea for acid reflux, but avoid spearmint or peppermint teas. Mint triggers acid reflux for many. Chamomile, licorice, slippery elm, and marshmallow may make better herbal remedies to soothe GERD symptoms.
Some of those I am not supposed to have I think. There are some odd restrictions for post-transplant.

The pH level in the black tea is 4.99-5.55
The pH level in the green tea is 7-10
The Ph level in the herbal tea is 6-7
The pH level in the blackberry tea is 2-3
Green tea would be the best choice, then herbal.
You can add milk to your tea to reduce acidity.
I understand that you need to take K2 with vitamin D3. Explore thus.
Thank you so much for the ph levels of the teas. Very helpful info for all of us who screen acid intake. One of the beauties of this outreach is how much we learn from one another among many other such gifts.
You're very welcome! It's great that all of us can help each other out thru our experiences in life.
I thought a biopsy was needed to diagnose Barrett’s. Regardless if you are having trouble swallowing I’d sure get a follow up endoscopy.
Yes that’s what I wondered. I was so confused lol. I went today and scheduled another endoscope. He said he took 2 biopsies last time in 2017 and will take 6 or 7 next week.
@cdrake I have Barrett's, diagnosed by an endoscopy. I never had a biopsy. I had my last endoscopy in the fall and they said my Barrett's was basically in remission! That was great news of course.
You should definitely follow up on the Barrett's. I'm glad you have another endoscopy scheduled. I hope you will keep us informed on how that goes.
