Hi..I think it's great you want to get off pharmaceuticals. That is my goal too.

I was taking oxycodone (10-325 mg twice a day as needed) for breakthrough pain, muscle relaxers and MS Contin 30 mg three times a day.

I started on Low THC/CBD oil almost 6 weeks ago. I decided I wanted off as much prescription meds as possible. I started with the oxycodone because it was as needed and I wanted to take baby steps. After 2 days on the oil I was off of oxy...and had cut way down on my muscle relaxers...I had just started trying tapering down the morphine from x3 to x2 when it was time for my next appointment with pain doc. He was pleased with results and told me to continue as I had been but to make sure I took the oil twice a day...6 drops..which is about what I had been taking only I was taking it as needed...so basically I am taking something every 6 hours.

The only problem I had was sleeping through some of my med/oil times even setting two alarms..music and voice. Which meant I was finally getting some much needed restful sleep. I go back to pain doc in a few days. I am not sure if I want to try this regime for another month or try and reduce my dosage of morphine.

I have had positive results and regardless if I can completely cut out all script meds or just reduce I feel like I am doing something positive for myself. I wish you the best of luck...I think it would be safer and give you peace of mind to consult and work with your doctor or pharmacist..take care.

Welcome to Connect @shearzi. It is great to see that you and your physician are working together to find what is best for you and they are on board with what you are doing. It is always best to work with a physician to ensure you aren't mixing things that could potentially be dangerous. @shearzi, if you don't mind sharing, what brought you to the chronic pain group? It sounds like you are/were on quite the regimen of pain pills, are you comfortable sharing what is causing you such pain?
