Connection between colon and breast cancer

I have read some articles stating a relationship between colon and breast cancer. I wanted to know more about this because I had breast cancer 5 years ago and was recently diagnosed with stage 4 colon with mets. I was told the colon cancer may have been there for close to ten years.

I had colon cancer and just had a biopsy for breast cancer which showed up in mammogram so tiny I would not have found them. Mother and sister both had breast cancer.

Hi @marieda2pa6, welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Great that the mammogram showed the abnormalities. As you know, at this stage the biopsy could still come back as non-cancerous. I'm sure your health care team is being extra diligent since you have already had cancer and are taking no chances. The waiting period is the hardest. When do you expect to get the results of the biopsy?
