My surgery is set for Sept 19th.
They want me to go to the hospital for the preop and all and I balked. They keep you most of the day for 30 minutes of tests. Absolutely no since in wasting peoples time like that, I told her, my time is valuable too. I told them I wanted my doctor to do the preop. The gal says “That’s not the way we do it.” I told her “Maybe you need to change your procedure” which got her in a snippy mood so she says , so you don’t want the surgery? I finally asked her to ask the doctor if I could go to my own doctor who knows my history and can order whatever tests she feels necessary. They told me if they can’t get it all in an hour and a half to two hours they will schedule another surgery. I want that stent out of there. It’s painful to pee and the urgency, oh boy, the slightest urge and I’m on the run. Haven’t always made it either.

So, Jake, did your surgeon approve the preop to be done locally? Will you still be having the surgery as planned? I sincerely hope that you have a successful procedure.

@jakedduck1 Hi, Leonard! I’m sorry you’re still dealing with this kidney stone thing! Has the hospital said why they want to do the pre-op tests? Do they have different lab standards than the doctor’s office? Maybe you’ll just have to be the bigger person, and say “OK, we’ll do it your way.” Just get the stint out!! We want more jokes!
