Hi, @annedodrill44 - wanted to let you know I moved your post on fluoxetine hcl (Prozac) here to an existing discussion on this medication so that you can connect with others interested in the same topic. I personally have taken this medication twice for a season when I was experiencing an especially stressful situation where I was significantly anxious and the symptoms were not manageable with trying to live my daily life. One time 20 mg did the trick, and another time (during a move across town) I ended up needing to have my dose upped to 40 mg.

I will say, however, that I note for me, fluoxetine hcl (Prozac) can at times cause minor problems with my memory (e.g., can't recall something that happened 2-3 months ago that I think I should recall, or telling the same story again by mistake), so that part is a tradeoff. This memory issue resolved before when I tapered off the medication.

How is the transition to fluoxetine hcl (Prozac) from the escitalopram (Lexapro) going?
