@gingerw I don't handle them in a healthy manner as I end up becoming destructive by destroying my own things as this does not harm others. I shatter and tear things then clean up the mess which helps me focus and calm back down. I know it may sound crazy but it works until the next blow-up. Found out today I need to go for another bladder biopsy and the hoops one navigates for this threw me into an outburst. The doctor won't do the biopsy under a local. the last sedation ended up with necrosis of my uvula. Not sure I can handle sedation with this fear dangling over me. He thinks it is scar tissue but wants to make sure. I think they are desperate for income.
Went off the original question. The surgery isn't scheduled until January 18. Have to go through a drive up swab thing at the pharmacy 2 days before. Overload for now.

Hello @parus,

I'm so sorry to hear of the upcoming surgery. I can understand that this is as you say, "overload for now."

Do you have any tools to deal with this sense of overload? I'm thinking of things like writing about your feelings and the original experience that brought about your PTSD.

Not meaning to be giving advice, just some thoughts.

@parus It sounds like you are destroying things instead of harming others. Safety of self and others is first. Right now how are you doing with feeling you can keep yourself safe and others safe around you?

What you are describing maybe intense emotional dysregulation.

Have you every heard of DBT or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy? DBT helps build emotional regulation from the ground up, meets often for both group and one-on-one, and many programs offer crisis calls 24/7 (or certain day hours) in the beginning. These programs are online due to COVID-19.
