Does CBD oil help you with your depression and/or anxiety?
I am curious to know if anyone has had success with CBD or Hemp oil helping with depression/anxiety? I’ve been reading a lot about it and am curious.
I've been reading about this and am very interested but would like thoughts/opinions from anyone who has actually tried it or knows someone who has. TIA
Thank you,
Laura

Hi, @rascal1 - I believe your question was for @stressedmesseddepressed, so wanted to ensure this member got your tag.
@stressedmesseddepressed - how are you feeling these days?
@lalyfa , I have questions about the cbc oil. Maybe you could help me with first I have fibromyalgia and alot of pain. I also deal with alot of anxiety and depression and the medications I've been on just aren't controlling any of it to a point I can function. Do you use the cbc oil for pain ? Or more as a help for depression and anxiety? How did you know which brand to trust , some of the ads you see out there seem a bit questionable. So I've been reluctant to try until I know I'm going to be getting the real thing, you know. I would like to hear more feedback about its effects on pain and it's role in control of anxiety and depression. So please you and other members let me know your thoughts on it.
@rascal1, I'm a big fan of lavender at bedtime and in a hot bath . The scent is very relaxing to me. I fight insomnia alot and use a few drops in a carrier oil or lotion and just rub it in to arms ,neck and chest so I can smell it well and do believe it helps as much as any of the med I have ever tried . Just a precaution go easy and always use a carrier until you see your not going to have any skin sensitivity to it .GOOD LUCK
Thank you so much for your advice on the use of Lavender !
I am a beginner at trying CBD oil for my anxiety/sleep issues, due to multiple physical ailments. Starting at very low dose, one drop under tongue at noon, and before bed. So far, after 3 days, anxiety seems to be reduced by half, insomnia reduced, and even pain is reduced. One night tried 2 drops, which caused big jump in loss of sleep. From the literature, starting low and slow is the way to go. A good pure source of CBD oil seems essential, if there is any amount of THC other than traces, it will cause the opposite effect of what is desired, and increase anxiety. Sadly, there is no uniformity among the producers, so you need to examine the fact sheet on contents of the CBD oil, or do not buy it! I am trying to stay off of a prescription med called escitalopram (Lexipro), due to its known side effects, and addiction potential, but will have to go to it if the CBD oil fails.
Replying to the lavender oil and sleep issues. Thanks. Am gonna try that as I've heard of that before. Another thing. I have a humidifier in my room with aromatherapy as well. So I now use eucalyptus essential oil for aromatherapy at night which helps my sinus issues. But now I think I will use essential oil of lavender in my aromatherapy device which will then put out a mist of lavender oil all night.
Regarding CBD oil. Yes I know those drops do work. I live in Colorado where it's legal. A gentleman I know who has brain cancer uses the oil for several pain issues including sleep. Amazing. I don't use it cause I have a job and I'm not sure about their policy.
It's a good med for lot's of things. I'm so grateful to be able to access it for my low grade anxiety.
How many drops per day do you use and what brand please?
So good you’re having succes with initial trial of CBD ! Which brand are you using ? Thanks!
