I'm so glad you found a medication that works for you! I suffer with depression and anxiety as well. My symptoms are worse in the morning and then again late evenings. Was yours this way? I've just started Wellbutrin about a week ago. I'm wondering if anyone has had success with it. I appreciate your comment about the thyroid as this could be my problem. Seeing my dr soon. Thanks for sharing and I hope today is a blessed one.
I started taking Wellbutrin in '05. It was the first antidepressant I found that helped. I had tried a whole string of them. Six weeks on a med, no result, six weeks of another med, couldn't make myself stop eating, six weeks of another, became hugely suicidal on week 4, lasting one week. I was already attempting suicide, so adding a med with that side effect really ramped up the desire to die. Exactly 7 days of that and it was like a switch turned it off.
I tried a few add on antidepressants, Abilify was one, but they didn't cause any improvement. Recently, my depression seemed to be getting worse, so I got an appointment with the psychiatrist, and he started me on Remeron. After a couple of weeks, I began feeling better. I felt like a weight was lifted.
Antidepressants are incredibly personal. With so many options it can take a while to land on the right one. I hope Wellbutrin will work for you.

Thank you so much, Gailb, for sharing your similar experiences. It’s so comforting to realize I’m not the only one suffering these symptoms. And I’m grateful to hear there are meds that may help. My complaints are so vague that a diagnosis may never happen! If that’s the case, I will go for quality of life and take those pills too! I’ll let you know what Mayo tells me following my physical In 2 weeks.
Hi Gail @gailb
I agree with you Gail, we all need to find the right kind of support, activities and meds to free ourselves from the past. It is important to be proactive in finding those solutions. Often exercise, yoga tai-chi, therapy are all important!
