And I almost forgot 2 other dry eye helpers. One is sunglasses with foam around the inside. They help to keep the moisture in your eyes. And nice to have but not terribly helpful during the night when your eyes are closed....a humidifier.....if you live in low humidity areas like me. And the last resort is to move to a rain forest or other high humidity locale. My eyes are always better when I return to CA from MN because the weather in general and humidity are hospitable environments for dry eye folks. Chris

I understand: Xiidra is not a generic. And consequently is very $$$$$$$- That is the only treatment medication I am using. Everything else is just lifestyle changes and what I call “soothers”.

I am currently being treated for a different, nonrelated eye condition. And I want to share that I have been advised to avoid the generic brand of eye drops because they can cause more irritation due to the chemical solutions involved.
