Hi I'm new to this today. But I'd like to let everyone know my experience recently. I had breast cancer in 2015 did chemo and radiation and all this time I've had neuropathy in my feet and can't walk. And I mean I can't walk they are so bad. I recently went to a neurologist and had some blood work done. He told me that my B6 level was 292.8! He told me that the normal should run around 1:25. He told me that B6 causes nerve peripheral neuropathy!! So I was pleased to find this group I hope that everyone will go get a blood test on your B6. All this time I thought it was from the chemotherapy but now I think it is from B6 overdose. The only problem is is I don't know where I'm getting all the B6. I don't do fruit protein shakes or vitamins. I'd like to hear some comment and feedback
I've been drinking energy drinks for years that add high amounts of B6 and B12. Few months ago I stopped drinking the energy drinking and started taking 5000mcg of B12 everyday ( idiotic right?) And started noticing warm sensations in my feet and hands. Just curious, have your symptoms gone away? If so, how long did it take?
Hi @nydiver59, I merged your message with an existing discussion about Vitamin B6 toxicity. If you click VIEW & REPLY in the email notification, you can read back through the discussion to-date. In addition to the information @johnbishop shared with you, I'm tagging @lynsorensen @gman007 and @parus to see if they may have experience to share about how long it takes for symptoms to resolve after getting B6 levels back to normal and appropriate follow-up.
NYDiver, congrats on getting B6 levels back within range.
