I am 65 and had gallbladder surgery 8 weeks ago by the keyhole method. I continue to have nausea from time to time and flatulence. I normally fight constipation but do have bouts with loose bowel movements. I seem to have trouble with lettuce and leafy green veggies. I am losing weight and I am happy about that. I eat graham crackers and saltines that seems to be easier on me. I have read where others can eat salad with no problem. I love salad but it doesn’t love me it appears.

Hi, @daizie - welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I have also had gallbladder surgery, a number of years ago. I'd say in my case, though the attack that sent me to the hospital was fairly dramatic, my recovery was fairly straightforward.

Sorry to hear nausea, flatulence and loose bowel movements are continuing with you.

I thought you might be interested in reading this Mayo Clinic article about eating after gallbladder surgery https://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/cholecystectomy/expert-answers/gallbladder-removal-diet/faq-20057813.

What has your surgeon or staff from his or her team said about these symptoms you are having?
