I know that your message is a very old post. However, did you ever find anything out about this? I have high Peth scores with no alcohol involved and i get a mystery rash/hives and a constant sore throat.... like mono or shingles. I can't any docs to consider an autoimmune response.

No. I didn't. I do know that the finger stick test has 19 steps. Errors occurred during collection of the sample.
I do actually wonder if I need to be on maintenance antibiotics for small bowel bacterial overgrowth. I was diagnosed with it in November. I was on Xifaxan for 3 weeks.
I am interested in the possibility of autoimmune. What do you know about it?
I personally think, it's a scam to order more tests, to get more money.
I haven't had a positive venous draw. I have done 6 of those along with the finger stick. The positive finger sticks didn't occur with the venous draws though.
It's been a very frustrating year.
