Auto Immune Disease
Auto Immune disease can cause you to have many diagnosis before you get to the bottom of your real problem. I was in a severe car accident in 2001 and had blamed most everything on it. When I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia I started looking into auto immune disease. I am an LPN with 16 years experience and all RN classes taken but did not do my clinical portion due to husband's brain injury in the same accident opting to work so we would have insurance because auto insurance would not cover everything. I had to stop working as a nurse on the floor shortly after the accident because I could not lift 50lbs or more and fortunately had a prior degree in data processing with small business management. I worked employee health and then Utilization Review as the hospital had just started using computers until 2011 when chronic pain forced me to start taking vicodin. I was afraid to drive while on it let alone work in the position I was in so I retired early at age 57. By this time my husband had finally received Social Security Disability insurance and benefits.

How was it determined that you have autoimmune disease? Can you explain it more to me?

Yes I would be interested in your reply too. My pain dr thinks that I have an auto immune disease and when I asked what the process was she said that I had to go back to my GP and to get him to start looking. My question is how do they narrow down the correct AI that I have vs many others as so many seem to have the same symptoms. So many things seem to be interrelated and I struggle to get them all figured out. It can be a lengthy process so I would appreciate any insight at all. Best of luck to you as well.

Has anyone heard of patchy meningitis of the brain?
It has to do with auto immune disease but very rare
@concerned98 No patchy meningitis of the brain? No, but I have an amorphous deposit of died misfolded protein in the cerebrum. It is called CAA , Cerebral Amyloid Angiography. Autoimmune and scary. That much I understand, I guarantee.
@concerned98 One more thing. The word is spelled pachymeningitis. Has nothing to do with "paTch". It is actually a fairly well-known autoimmune disease, apparently. In fact, there are 18 others on this site that say they have it. You might go the MayoClinic.org or Medscape or National Institutes of Health (NIH) and do a search on it.
