No, I haven't talked to an agency. I was under the impression you had to go to a disability attorney.

I found online the name that was recommended to me: Allsup. I've heard that they have a high first time application record.
I think one or more of my siblings used their services.

@jenapower Jennifer, You sound just like me! I didn't apply for SSD and kept thinking I'll go back and I certainly wouldn't qualify so soon after leaving work. Well don't you know that by the time I applied I was denied! I was told I did not file in a timely manner and didn't qualify. Why can't people like you and I get some credit for not trying to take advantage of the system and wanting to go back to work? I have been told to see an attorney.

I was still employed when I applied. I applied in the spring and received the call in August, and retired in October. Have you ever spoken with an agency that does the application process for you?
